We know that these generation of Ksyrium Elite wheels are still popular, and understandably so.

They feature many of the characteristics (bombproof build quality,  rims with ISM4D weight reduction, bladed spokes etc)  that made Mavic the market leader around this time. 

Unfortunately Mavic stopped producing the replacement spokes for these wheels many years ago, and we frequently get asked if there are any alternatives.

Well the good news is that yes there are alternatives that will work perfectly.

The spokes used in the 2018 Ksyrium Elite UST Rear wheel will work in the 2011 / 2013 Ksyrium Elite Rear wheel. The spokes are the same length, same material, same head , same nipple (albeit different colour – more detail below) and same bladed profile. 

Specifically ;

2011/2013 Rear Driveside (part number 12030601) – 2018 equivalent is part number V2277901
2011/2013 Rear Non-Driveside (part number 12030701) – 2018 equivalent is part number V2278001

There are two aesthetic differences ;

1 The nipple is a dark bronze colour rather than silver. See image below (the 2011 / 2013 spoke is on the left)

2 The round profile of the head end extends for slightly longer before the bladed profile begins. In the second image below, again the 2011 / 2013 spoke is on the left
